I found a letter this morning I wrote long ago It was folded and tucked into an old envelope In the back of a Bible that I haven’t touched in years Now I’m holding these pages that you’ll never read And it’s sad even now you could never concede That your leaving your cheating was ever in your control Well you got what you asked for you’re all by yourself And I’ve still got your picture face down on the shelf I remember the days when we laughed and we cried Before the spoils of love left you rotten inside Now the love that you lost is the one thing you’ll never find Well they say every girl hits a quarter-life crisis Decides what she wants and then changes her mind everyday But for you there was a change in your heart too I miss the way that you’d look at me just brown eyes to blue Even after you wandered even after I knew I still loved you, you’re the only thing I ever lived for Now the poetic justice it’s more than I need How you’re stuck in Columbus still making ends meet And your best friends and boyfriends are using you up Like a fountain of youth and there’s never enough They’re all scared half to death to get old Now you’re in the same ruts going down the same road And the life that you missed is the one thing you’ll never know Now I’m in California the one place you dreamed You could start your new life, a life without me And I’m setting my roots down in your promised land That you wanted so bad it slipped right through your hands And I feel like I’m normal again I’m finding it easier to smile I don’t have to pretend There’s a part of me that wants you to come But there’s far too much damage that can’t be undone And it’s hard to believe…now the rabbit has the gun

I know you’re just here to pack your things Your half of the memories But it’s good to see you anyway A single suitcase and a list I can’t believe it’s come to this The photonegative of our first kiss Now I miss you, oh how I miss you I miss you, I already miss you Gone is the girl who said the vows I don’t even recognize you now With your new haircut and your forced smile So I’m not gonna fight you anymore You got your way you won your war I wish we could go back for just a little while Now I see the distance in your eyes I don't mind if we skip goodbyes You’re already gone so let’s just get this done So you take the forks I’ll take the spoons If I have to choose And we can divide the knives out one by one

I can stay let me know Just tell me not to go I’ll be here by your side If you wanna lay low I know there’s pain in your smile Though you never let it show Your happiness is at best Easy come easy go You hardly notice the string but your finger’s blue And pretty soon that black balloon Will shadow every part of you You know you have to let it go, you know You gotta LET IT GO…(x6) Let it go let it fly and watch it climb now Till all you’ll see is a dot up in the sky now Just let it go set it free I think you’re gonna see You’re not alone and the world is bigger than you think Let it go…before you know Everything will be alright, it’s alright Followed by a rain cloud Everywhere you go I know you’d like to be numb From your head to your toes Can’t describe how it feels But you’ll know when you know… oh when you let it go

So you think you got a big roar she said As she threw all my stuff from the second floor She called down have fun being king now You got no one to bow to you anymore And I don’t really see how it’d ever work out between you and me We’re like two different leaves from the same damn tree Even though there’s a part of heart that still beats for you I think it’s better if we settle this here and now, win or lose If it really is a fight that you want then you know my dear I’m right here I already know I’m right and you’re wrong So let it out let it out what you got to say It’s high time we had a civil war anyway I’ve had enough I’m not raising the white flag anymore, not today So go and take your best shot try to hit home I hope it makes you feel better when you’re all alone I don’t remember seeing signs for the war zone…but I should’ve known So you’re calling me an ice queen You’re like a stone hot cold never in between Tell me now what’s the fight about anyway I can’t tell cuz you never mean what you say I don’t really think that it could ever work out between me and you We’re like two different feet in the same damn shoe Even though there’s a part of my heart that just won’t let you go I’m sick of finding myself on the same old road

Snowday 03:33
It’s too early and too dark to wake up Next to my head tom petty’s singing ‘bout a break up Sounds so much better with my eyes shut And that’s how it’s gonna stay I’m still half way caught up in a dream state Trying to hold on but I think it’s too late You can’t ever go back to the good dreams They all seem to slip away Snooze to silence the DJ I think I might be an insider today Just got one story to fabricate And then I’m on my way What ever happened to the good ol’days When all we had to do was play around And see how many snowballs we could make Before sun went down There’s been a change of plans…I’m gonna take a snowday I don’t care if it’s 85 in LA I'll just waive my hands and make snow angels in the sand And no one will understand but that’s okay We're gonna need a place we can hide out We can build a fort from the cushions on the couch Just to make sure that no one can find out Our devious plans And you know that wecan take our little fantasy As far as the mind can see Outside it’s sunshine and palm trees It don’t matter to me It’s funny no one seems to think it through That when you grow up you can do Whatever you want to Let’s take it on back to the old days When the only plan was to get up and go play You know I think it’s time for a snowday

65° it’s a perfect night on Sunset To meet some people I’ll soon forget We’re all movie stars in our own heads And the rest are just flies on the wall It’s a rat race of pretty faces out to be seen Half gold-diggers the other half they got magic beans Everybody’s chasing tail instead of chasing dreams And they wonder why they’re stalled There’s so many long legs lost in LA The city of silicone and better days She’s a fantasy girl till she opens her mouth And boredom trickles out Can’t take no more, slip next door to the Argyle Grab a scotch rocks and sip on it for a little while Bartender pours one more says this one’s free Compliments of the girl in the booth seat Slow down, breathe out and focus on the prey No need to think about what you’re gonna say This is going down the old-fashioned way Just make sure she’s the first to look away You’re saying it all with what you don’t say When you’re holding the goose with the golden eggs Little white dress about thigh high You can run but you can’t hide Eyeshadow glowin in the low lights That’s why the giant hunts at night FEE FI FO FUM That pretty little bow needs to come undone FEE FI FO FUM I hope you’re ready now cuz here I come I say FEE FI FO FUM I like the eyeliner overdone I like way your lips part like a smoking gun I like the smell of an Englishwoman So here I come FEE FI FO FUM And for tonight you’re the only one Your first instinct will be to try to run So go ahead now it’s half the fun

I always fall for the same girl, the fun and the faithless i'm a sucker for pretty faces I wasted half my life chasing One-sided love affairs Now I've come to expect it the let down, the leaving The tide of passion receding the forgotten phone calls and forgotten feelings they’re just the first steps …in the dissipation of a life shared I regret…that once again I let myself care too much for a girl so scared of love that she wouldn’t let herself care enough First time that I caught your smile you were standing there With your blue eyes and your curly hair Right away I saw red flags everywhere But I didn’t care, no I didn’t care Now it seems every time I look-up I’m getting introduced to Another one of your hook-ups I think I see a little too much of myself in their eyes If you can’t love me dear You know that there’s still time To cut our losses here Just promise you won’t Lie to me Don’t you lie to me You know the distance in between Is killing us it's killing me And I might learn to let it all be But don’t you lie to me We should’ve both known hanging on was a mistake Yeah we should've made a clean break We could’ve gone our separate ways and avoided all of this So tell me that you miss me but please don’t you fake if you’re just doing it for my sake You know that I can feel when something’s missing in your kiss So if it’s love you fear There’s nothing I can do But let you go my dear I know that you won’t

Barcelona 05:04
I’ve got a stack of empty postcards that I’ve yet to send A handful of souvenirs from all the places that I’ve been They’re all just sitting in a shallow drawer beside my bed Waiting for you, just waiting for you Beneath the decisions and visions That never came true They were ours to lose And now I’m sitting here without you Thinking ‘bout you on a Sunday afternoon And I’m missing you When I saw the pictures from your Barcelona trip last fall There was this one where you were leaning up against the wall And I couldn’t help notice how you looked so happy there I wish I could take you back, I wish I could take you there But how do you take the next step forward when you’re scared to fall For a lover that thinks about you all the time and not at all We could move on with life and it’s not like the world would end But somehow we won’t, for some reason we don’t And I just know I don’t wanna be the first to let go Yeah it’s all I know So if my heart is yours to lose And if your fate is yours to choose Then it’s up to you now And my heart keeps calling out… People move on from people who wait And the window closes and then it’s too late If it’s meant to be it’ll be You say We’ve gotta find our Barcelona…just the two of us A place the morning sunlight reaches in to wake us up Where the days are as long or short as we decide they oughta be Where can be free, yes we can be free Free from the hurt that keeps our hearts all tangled up with doubt And whatever the wind happens to blow our way we’ll figure it out And all that I know each day is there’s no place I’d rather be As long as you’re with me, I need you with me
